FCSI’s Future-tech roundtable: The future of education foodservice

Leading FCSI The Americas consultants and Marcy Matthews of Delfield address designing commercial kitchens and operating foodservice spaces in educational foodservice: the challenges, changes, and opportunities

On Tuesday June 28, 2022, leading FCSI The Americas consultants, plus Marcy Mathews, director of product management & customer service for Delfield at Welbilt Inc., met for a virtual FCSI roundtable to discuss the significant current and future impacts and challenges facing education foodservice operators – and the solutions to help them.

From the ongoing labor crisis in this sector (and others), plus how automation/robotics can plug that gap, to how connected kitchens and cloud-based solutions, the roundtable explored the key trends, and the innovation being rolled out in answer to them.

Chaired by Michael Jones of FCSI’s Foodservice Consultant magazine, the roundtable saw leading consultants, FCSI Associate Costel Coca, design principal at Webb Foodservice Design; and Richard Dieli FCSI, principal design consultant, Dieli Murawka Howe, discuss the key challenges their clients continue to face.
