Alto-Shaam nemorial golf event raises record total for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

The event, held at Ironwood golf course in Sussex, Wisconsin, welcomed 208 golfers and raised $150,000, the highest total at an Alto-Shaam memorial golf event

Global foodservice manufacturer Alto-Shaam raised a record total at its latest memorial golf event held in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and in memory of its founder, Jerry Maahs, who passed away from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2006.

The event, held at Ironwood golf course in Sussex, Wisconsin, welcomed 208 golfers and raised $150,000, the highest total at an Alto-Shaam memorial golf event. In a 16-year partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Alto-Shaam has raised more than $1 million.

“I would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended, participated and supported our latest Golf for a Cure event,” says Steve Maahs, Alto-Shaam CEO.

Huge support

“The huge support and belief in this important cause, and hugely generous contributions, with a record total raised, will make a big difference in supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society lead the fight against blood cancer,” added Maahs.

Donations from Alto-Shaam partners, sponsors and employees totalled $75,000, with Alto-Shaam matching dollar-for-dollar to reach the collective donation. The proceeds will be directed towards the established Jerry Maahs Memorial Fund, the Dare to Dream project which looks to transform treatment and care for children with blood cancer, and college scholarships for childhood cancer survivors.
