The World’s 50 Best Restaurants announces line-up for virtual talk

Chefs from across the world will come together for the digital edition of #50BestTalks: Rewriting the Menu

The next edition of thought-leadership forum #50BestTalks, presented by Miele, will tackle the challenge of ‘Rewriting the Menu’ for a more equitable, post-pandemic restaurant world.

The event forms a key part of the 50 Best Recovery Summit, bringing the gastronomic community together online over three days from 13-15 October.

Launched in 2014, the #50BestTalks event series brings together influential figures from across the restaurant industry to debate and discuss issues at the heart of today’s food landscape.

New menus and upcoming plans

In the upcoming Rewriting the Menu edition, leading chefs from across the globe will explore changes in culinary outlooks, menus and ingredients prompted or accelerated by recent events. The international panel will share experiences from their restaurants, outline the development of new menus, reveal upcoming plans and debate the direction in which the gastronomic sector needs to be heading.

The speakers for this virtual event are:

  • Julien Royer: The French-born chef-patron of Odette in Singapore, currently ranked No 1 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.
  • Clare Smyth: The former protégée of Gordon Ramsay opened Core by Clare Smyth in London in 2017, She was voted The World’s Best Female Chef in 2018.
  • Garima Arora: The Indian-born chef opened her first restaurant, Gaa in Bangkok, and was awarded the Highest New Entry Award at the 2019 Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, while Arora was named Asia’s Best Female Chef.
  • Camilla Marcus: The owner of the much-admired but recently shuttered West~bourne in New York City, Marcus is also a leading voice in the Independent Restaurant Coalition in the US.

Following the in-depth panel discussion, online audience members will be able to put live questions to these expert chefs and leaders in gastronomy.
